Any Vegetarians/Vegans here?
RE: Any Vegetarians/Vegans here?
Didn't PETA just get called out for actually killing thousands of dogs and cats?

Yes, apparently they kill rescue animals in their shelters if nobody wants to adopt them because cause they are sick, dying or just unwanted. I am not quite sure if its justified or not, but they argue that its better for them to be killed than to spend a life in a cage, decreasing resources available to support the rehousing of other animals.

What is the alternative? You could put them out on the street, but if they can live well on the street then one would not expect them to be found ill on the street in the first place which led to them being taken in by an animal shelter. At least a lethal injection of anaesthetic is pain free. Much better to advocate reducing the number of animals bred and responsible care of pets, which is exactly what peta do.

PETA kills not just sick or un-adoptable but all the animals they can. They don't want people to own them so they just kill them. They are constantly contradicting themselves.

They kill because it is cheaper, and brings more money in their pockets!

There are shelters that kill, no kill shelters, and rescues. Most shelters kill because they can't afford all the animals and don't have room;but PETA does have the money, they just choose to waste it or put it in their pockets. No kill shelters and rescues rely on fosters and donation. They don't make a profit.

They were killing adoptable animals...

The process of euthanasia doesn't matter if you are killing animals that are actually healthy and adoptable...by the hundreds.

I believe one of the shelters was in Norfolk, VA.

If they are doing that then it certainly wrong, but most of the things you suggest they do is either hearsay or consistent with what I said before. The no kill shelters don't take in all the animals they can such as feral cats etc.

The Penn and Teller video is a really bad hatchet job though, and most of their criticism is just guilt by association. I certainly don't agree with PETA not condemning the ALF, but that doesn't negate all the good work PETA do.

Additionally I really don't see why you are so against PETA for killing animals in their shelters for profit, as you claim, although I certainly would be if there was any evidence of this. There is another group of people who also kill animals for profit. We call them farmers.

The same nonsense over and over again. peta euthanises animals that cannot be rehomed because they are sick or have behavioral issues. Obviously the Agribusiness who are peta's enemy wishes to spin this.

How would peta profit from killing animals?

Oh and I support the ALF.
Some may call them junk, I call them treasures.
