RE: Grrr
I was talking about justice with God's Child, and he said things that made me genuinely believe that our views are so far apart that there's just no making sense of it. I forget where that post was, though.

Good video to watch, if you want to know how common the Jesus story really is.

There's the problem, there's no talking to that guy but I engage him for the fun of it.

I get frustrated with the fundies in my family, because it's fallacy after fallacy followed closely with a circle jerk and confirmation bias bullshit. As for online, I only get frustrated if they're being intentionally dishonest or willfully ignorant.... so... a lot.

My grandmother loves to say that the bible is true because all the prophesies that came true, and no matter how often I tell her that they really haven't, she remains unconvinced. I'm not really sure how to sit her in front of a computer at a webpage about the stuff that didn't come true. Maybe if I printed out something.

Hon I don't think any of us are going to attempt to deconvert a granny lady. It's the people between the age of 3-65 I worry about.

I think you're right.

Doubtful when a whole subset of you thinks we're going to burn in hell but aren't satisfied with that divine judgment and wish to visit it on us here on earth.

I'd be perfectly willing to live in peace with you. Keep your superstitions in your homes and churches and out of our laws and classrooms and you have no problem with me.

Never expect to win an argument like this...and by win I mean persuade. In the heat of the argument, peoples ego's get in the way and they just won't back down. If you do manage to persuade some one, the change in their worldview will happen later....long after the argument died....in moments of self reflection.

Exactly. I got into a heated discussion just the other day with a three year old about god.

I totally kicked his ass.
