The Church and Science was in a union, it once served the church and was governed by it; like a child governed by its parent. One reason why science and religion get emotional in their irritation, is this past relationship; similar to the old famous family feuds in the south.

Alrighty then. Cool story bro.

If you capitalise "god" as you do in your profile, then it's likely the Abrahamic deity since they're the only ones who do that.

However, I'll leave that open to you telling me. But I will say that you keep referring to a singular god when there have been tens of thousands created by humans over the millennia.

I put atheist in caps, until I was asked not to. I can put god in small letters if it offends you.

Not offended. Just making an observation.

So, I'm assuming your god is a singular creator god that you believe in? One with many names?

I think that can only be true with humans who were before the time of Adam; which I believe existed, the scientific and Archaeological evidence is there.

Wait wait. Are you saying that there is scientific and Archaeological evidence for the Adam of the Book of Genesis???
If so, I would really like to see this evidence you speak of please.

It's also useless anywhere or with anyone that requires some amount of proof for grandiose claims.

I don't know what God is , don't know his name or him. I am not Christian, so I do not believe in their trinity. God could a singular being with 8 separate consciousness, or some kind of being that we just are unable to describe. I don't know what God is, nor do I think anyonelse does; we can only speculate.

I did not say there was proof of Adam, but that humans existed before he did. And proving God is not a grandiose thing to do, its quite simple. But its better to prove him to ones self, than somebodyelse.

O I see. I misunderstood because of your phrasing. Undecided

Hmmm. You're talking to a deist - someone who believes in a creator being and even I will quickly admit that proving the existence of god is NOT a possibility and that "proving him to yourself" is the practice of the mentally unstable.

Disrespect?

What is disrespect to a theist, who demonstrates total ignorant and both the concept and history of atheism, and who yet come impertinently to an atheist forum to presume to tell atheists what atheism is and where it came from?

I understand this reaction, I have been on religious boards for over 20 years, and most of them now have a significant atheist presence. And I have debated them for years. Today, I wanted to experience what becoming a member of an atheist board would like. I tried it once last year, I lasted 2 days. I am still a member there, but my first thread caused such an uproar, they closed it. So I never went back.

I figured since I debate them everyday anyway, how would that change on their home turf?

What debate? What are you actually debating?

Well then I am unstable. And been that way a long time.

You and a billion others.
Funny thing isn't it: How easy it is to prove god's existence to only yourself. Undecided
