I knew there was a reason that my upcoming phone will be an Android! Hahah. Although I'm not sure I can take it to its logical conclusion when watching such things on the subway train though. Might be embarrassing.

I have never yet had a cell phone. I don't even know how to use one. I'll be getting my first one sometime kind of soon.

Porn vs farting? Such a hard decision....

Wouldn't any phone that has web access be able to at least go to porn websites? Or does the iphone restrict those too?

No, you can still visit porn sites via the browser. What Steve Jobs seems to think is that it's immoral for Apple to provide apps that have a primary function to serve porn, because some children might have iPhones and he doesn't want children looking at porn.

One could always download onto the home computer and then upload videos and pics to the phone, but that still sucks.

I can't picture when I might want to watch porn when away from a home computer, but just because I might never use it, is no reason to like some company censoring me. 'Apple' must refer to the famous one that caused the illogical shame of nakedness.

Just as with home computers, concerned parents can install some sort of nanny software, or simply give their kids a phone that has no web capabilities yet is still good for emergency calls etc. Apple seems to be assuming that I'll have kids using the phone, as well as being in need of them to do the parenting for me. One of the channels on youtube I found recently has some stuff about them refusing an app because of religion too. I'll post it next time I go through my youtube subs.

The problem is that parents can't install Nanny software on the iPhone and iPod due to the way they are made. Apps don't have access to the core system services in the same way they do on a Mac, so you can't monitor and block network traffic.

It bugs me that they are censoring adults at all. Maybe Apple should market their products as being for kids only. That would be more honest of them. Or better yet, market both that and an adult version which would be as censorship-free as the internet and home computers. Grumble, grumble, I don't like it one bit....
