Funny, I could say the exact thing about the books that try to PROVE Christianity. At least the books disproving religion are usually grounded in science.

It could be that your relative did not ignore the doubts, it could be that he saw his doubts as not worthy of worry anymore. I don't think it was that his doubts were not "worthy of worry" anymore. ...
