Bullshit, bad logic is bad logic. Thanking an all seeing all powerful God, after the fact, would be like thanking Superman for watching a rape in progress with folded arms, and only does something after the fact.

I am NOT addressing her human right to believe, but yes I am obsessesed with going after bad logic. No different than saying the earth is not flat. Instead of getting childishly offended, try understanding why the logic does not work. Humans have rights, but claims as ideas do not deserve blind value to be scrutiny free.

Thank god we still beleive the earth is flat. Thank god we still believe Thor makes lightening. Since when does facing reality make me a "killjoy". There are lots of bad claims humans have scrapped and have evolved fine without clinging to.

As if I needed a lecture on why it's bullshit. It's just not your or anybodies business to judge someone for using a phrase. Especially if it obviously makes her feel better after having lost a son. Speech policing is ridiculous and it borders on missionary work and I never made any secret of gladly extending my general disgust for missionaries to the atheist brand.

We have a criminal being brought to justice in a country where normally they can hide behind the blue line, and you want to go on a tangent about a remark the mother made about god. Is this a thread about religion, or is it a thread about a criminal with a badge being charged with murder? Those are entirely different topics, and it would be best if you just pick one.

Giving religious claims special privilege is the same as blindly believing the cop. You are having an emotional reaction and wrongfully trying to shut down a rightful objection to bad use of logic.

I think the logic in this is that it is almost a miracle for a white cop to be charged with murdering a black man.  In the normal order of things, white cops do not get charged with murdering black men.  It is an extreme anomaly.

And it only happened because the video did not back up the bullshit story he made up.

It's really sad that things like these, which should be obvious, are seen as fucking miraculous

I think this is more the authorites trying to appease growing public backlash against police brutality while simultaneously covering their ass.

Yet there are some cases where the prosecution decided to bring up murder charges. The one where the cop invented a bullshit story and placed false evidence close to the victim he just had shot in the back. Unawares that he was on tape the whole time. And another one, with the female black prosecutor, who's name I sadly forgot.
