I'm out.

RE: I'm out.
Bye E,

I will miss you, you have always brought a different perspective to the forums that helped me think things through. I've learned a lot of things by hanging out on these forums and many of those lessons were aided by things you brought to the table. I would suggest that much of that perceived privelage you seem to see might be projected to fit your agenda or be the result of all of us posting from behind the safety of our computers. As a cisgender, non-gay, non-minority, non-female, atheist, I'm sorry to see you go.

My tone doesn't change what I'm saying, and I'm not going to accept that as a valid counter point to anything I say. There's a mob mentality here, and when someone disagrees with a certain group of active posters, they're dogpiled, called a troll, and driven out. Well you've finally done it to me, you should only be so proud.

Remember that it's always good for your heart to forgive others. Smile Take care.

There's a lot of drama around here lately.

Not really been here long enough to get involved with the seeming drama unfolding, but I did read the article in question and your replies in the argument with taverish and to be honest it was laughable. Other than that though most of your posts on the forum in general are a good contribution so on that note it's a shame to see you (or anyone) leave this place.

I used to tell a lot of religious jokes. Not any more, I'm a registered sects offender.

There is no demonizing going on, people here express their disagreement with you, and they are entitled to do that just as you are to disagree with them.

Pretty much my feelings. This was all just one disagreement, and that happens in communities. Therefore you'll always be welcomed when you have that same, base interest as the rest of us (which knits a community).

How mature. It's good to see that civil disagreement is alive and well.
'We must respect the other fellow's religion, but only in the sense and to the extent that we respect his theory that his wife is beautiful and his children smart.' H.L. Mencken

'False religion' is the ultimate tautology.

'It is just like man's vanity and impertinence to call an animal dumb because it is dumb to his dull perceptions.' Mark Twain

'I care not much for a man's religion whose dog and cat are not the better for it.' Abraham Lincoln

Sense of humor. You're doing it wrong.

RE: I'm out.
I for one am glad. Not because I'm a white male that is an atheist but because we don't need the drama.
