Creative Puppy Name Suggestions
|
I appreciate the timely thread. I'm expecting a new boy towards the end of September. His litter identifier is "Earl" which made me think of naming him Duke. But I find the name Gary completely charming and it sounds different from Heidi which is pretty important. I won't decide for sure until he arrives.
I just received my AKC papers on my two Rottweiler puppies (males). I use to think that rottweilers should have German names, then after showing them for a while I came to the conclusion rottweilers are no longer just German dogs, they are an international breed, so I no longer use German names, my family back ground is Irish, funny though my last name is German, go figure. I now us Irish, Celtic names. I go on line looking for Irish names, Goggle Irish names and chose from there and I incorporate the meaning of the name into the full registered name. With these two males I chose names that started with C because this is my third litter. I chose Coyle and the name means battle leader so his name is Coyle Battle Leader and the other I chose Cahan which means battle warrior so his name is Cahan Battle Warrior, then I finish out their names with my kennel name. I like using unusual names for my dogs because I hardly ever find a dog with the same name and when showing in Seiger style conformation shows it helps to have different names from the other dogs, because there are so many dogs in the ring at one time and everyone is calling their dogs from outside the ring that dogs with similar names can be distracting to the dogs. It also makes it harder for others to call your dog away. Just my suggestion.
Will you have to bottle feed the puppies, if so I feel for you, I had to do it with this litter. Good luck with the pups and I know in the end you'll find the right name for each one. GC
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
Both cats here will freeze if I say their names with a certain tone. Unfortunately, I have to spontaneously use that tone for it to work. A casual attempt doesn't work. The cats have to actually be committing a serious infraction AND for me to use the tone to have an effect. If they are just running around, and I try to use the 'command' tone, it never works. If they are scratching the (ugly fucking) chair by the hutch, and I use the tone, they both stop immediately, and the one will come over to give the apology look and want a reassuring head scratch.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

I'm open to suggestions for names. FWIW, I'm a cat man, myself, but I'll answer, anyhow. I have no pets, but my dream would be to have a boy cat (khao manei) named Sagan, and a girl cat (Exotic shorthair) named Clara (from the Nutcracker, yes).

If I'm compelled to offer a third, I have a 13 year old Jack Russell named Rocky. Rocky's my third choice for legacy's sake. Why because they're all small, happy, and make you wonna kill them? Yeap Napoleon is a great name for a Jack Russell.
