I am a Believer, don't like to preach to the choir, so I joined up here. Only seen 2-3 other believers on this forum, so I was hoping you guys would like another to toy with. I am just looking for the truth, and others to bounce ideas off of. I hope I can fit in.

Hello

Welcome.
I'm sure you'll fit in. We have hardline believers who appear only to be here to proselytise and others who have a lot of fun with us. Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???"
Hello! There are more than 2 or 3 believers on this forum, as you will discover in time. Welcome.
Hi, what flavor of "god lover" are you? Christian (domination), Jew (sect), Muslim (sect), other? We have a number of evangelical Christians, and recently a minor flood of Catholics discussing poop and bestiality.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
Marko - You sound (so far) much more respectful than most of the Believers we get, so I think you might actually fit in just fine, if you have a thick skin (some nonbelievers are more aggressive than others at "counter-attacking" against Believers, since they've felt oppressed by religion all their lives and finally have a safe place to sling poo in return), and if you are intellectually honest (that is, you don't put forth ideas that are demonstrably false and then expect us not to call you on that, since we call each other on any assertion similarly demonstrably false).
You're off to a much better start than most. Welcome.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love. RE: Hello

Hello!
Welcome to the den of heathens. Hope you join in.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
