Imagine

Imagine how much stupider republicans will become when another democrat is elected in 2016.
After all, their stupidity has not lessened when they are running for the position; i.e., Trump.
I can seriously already imagine the storm of stupid that will erupt when idiot republican voters lose again.

I remember John Lennon singing that very differently.

I hope you're right. But, I don't think I'd bet the ranch on it.
Prepare yourself, just in case...for biggest and bestest President ever in the history of Presidentiary. Frickin' phenomenal.
His popularity is up because he is a polarizing figure, but I seriously doubt most voters would want him as President. If he does get the Republican nomination, this will probably be the largest voter turn out ever. He will bring people to the polls and that's a good thing. Far too many people don't exercise their right to vote. I worked with a guy who loved to talk politics but I later found out they guy doesn't vote! Sorry, you lose all right to discuss politics meaningfully if you aren't exercising your right when it counts.

I believe that, if Trump wins the nomination, 1) everyone who is even a little bit against Trump will rock the vote, 2) people from the ground up will start focusing less on his policies (which everyone knows and will be tired of) and more on the things he's said about women and muslims and other people he thinks he's better than, and 3) the religious right in swing states will rebel, being constantly reminded that Trump isn't one of them. This will result in a weak turnout for Repubs and strong turnout for Dems. Coupled with an historically low % of urban minorities voting Republican (might see, say, 5% instead of 10 or 12), that results in a runaway victory for whoever the Democrats throw up there (hopefully Bernie, but Biden or Clinton would be far, far better than the best Republican). And, quite frankly, even if Trump doesn't win the election and doesn't run as an independent, I think he's going to get enough write-ins to significantly impact the race in the Dems' favor.

Don't worry, my friend. If this be the end, then so shall it be.
