I forgot about this thread. I was up for a good two hours, overslept, almost missed a medical appointment, and was a real grouch all day.

I didn't sleep at all Thursday night, now here it is Saturday and its looking like I'm not sleeping again tonight.
I took a couple of Tramadol. You know what it's like when in enough pain that it keeps you awake, no matter how tired you are? Yeah, me too. It's been almost four years to the day since the onset of this condition, and I haven't figured out how to sleep through it. How does a person cope with this? The two medications can be safely taken together. I take 1000mg (two 500mg Extra Strength tablets) along with one Tramadol 50mg BEFORE pain becomes unbearable and it works quite well...Much more effective than Tramadol alone. This is a suggestion to help manage periodic or temporary pain ONLY. Consult your physician if you have a need for routine pain medication.
I do have a need for routine pain management.
The thing of it is, I have a real problem with physicians not taking my condition seriously. I've been between physicians for awhile. The Tramadol I take is indeed without acetaminophen/paracetamol. I'm not crazy about using acetaminophen to treat chronic conditions for obvious reasons. I ended up getting a couple hours of sleep. RE: The Late Night Rambling Insomnia Thread: Random Nothingess

Stronger narcotic medication is always a last resort. Acetaminophen is generally safe, as long as your liver is functioning properly. It wouldn't hurt to try one dose at bedtime, just to see it helps. If it does, a single dose of Tylenol daily isn't that big of a deal when you consider the alternatives. Whatever you do, best of luck to you. I hope things work out. |
