For the scond night in a row......

For the scond night in a row......
My neighbors brought me over plates of their homemade beef soft toccos.

I really admit I am a bit of a hermit. I like being by myself. I used to be into big gatherings when I was younger, but I do like being alone most of the time now. But I don't know what their expetations are in bringing me stuff, it wasn't the first time. A few weeks ago they gave me a bottle of Mexican whiskey. Holy shit was that spicy!

The biggest reason I don't hang out with them right now, is also the reason I don't hang out with my mother's former physical therapist. COVID, and really nothing more than that. That family does not wear masks, and even my mother's white physical thearapist even after getting vacinated also had a problem being consistant wearing his mask in close proximity to me.

If there were no covid right now, believe me, I would be hanging out on their deck, mooching their Modelo and making an ass of myself so they could poke fun of the white lamp shade cringo.

But right now it really just amounts to COVID, and nothing more.

But I am going to buy them a case of Modelo in the next couple of days. If anything, they deserve it for putting up with me hearing me yelling at my cat, and my computer, and letting my lawn look like the former guy's terroristic nuclear combover.

What exactly are ‘toccos’?

The same thing as "crab regs and robster craws" and "tators".

In my case, auto pilot. I've had a lifetime of A.D.D it really does get tedious to repeat that to you.

Again, every time you point out my spelling errors, what bothers me isn't that you do. What bothers me is that you don't get the fact I don't have a paid staff to edit my spelling, and YOU are not paing me a dime. So, if you really want me to give a shit about being perfect, pay me a salary. Out side that, please just stop acting like I should shit gold in every post.

You, "you are not perfect"

Me, " No shit, who is?"

I really can't dumb that down any further for you.

I wasn’t correcting your spelling (in fact, I’ve been making an effort NOT to do that) , I’ve just never heard of toccos. We don’t eat a lot of Mexican food, so I wondered what it was in case I wanted to try it.

Why do you think your neighbors expect something from you?

Sounds to me like they see a man alone with his cat and his whistling empties and they send over food. Chances are they make more than plenty are are being neighborly.

Buying them a case of beer would be a nice gesture but I don't think they are plying you with tacos in the hopes that you will spring for a cold one.

Just take it as human kindness and move on.

Oh, ‘tacos’. I honestly didn’t get that.

Holy shit does nobody get sarcasm?

I know they were simply trying to be nice. In the 10 years they have lived next to me, that is all I have ever thought.

I simply don't want them to be offended because I took the plate, thanked them, and went back inside without hanging out with them.

It really at this point really just is about COVID. I don't even hang out with Dwayne right now. You must have missed the post in this thread where I said if it weren't for COVID, I'd bee mooching tacos and Modelo off of them and giving them lampshade intertainment to laugh at.

I am not buying them beer out of any expectation. But my mom always drilled it into me as a kid, to give those who give to you some sort of thank you.

Bold mine -

I assume you meant gringo though it's sort of appropriate if that's some variation of "cringe-o".

Not everyone gets sarcasm. You, for example.

Yeah, if I wanted to point out 37’s spelling errors, I would have picked one of the five obvious ones in that post. As it is, I really thought ‘toccos’ was a Mexican dish I hadn’t heard of.
