The Sky God Was Not A Delusion

The Sky God Was Not A Delusion
As suggested by Administrator Stimbo.  This is a recap of my introduction and requested papers :

I fell back into catastrophism after a 20+ year hiatus. The scientists within their books talked about problems between the interdisciplinary studies and that someone should look closer into the mythology aspect of Spacefalls in human 'history'.

So I did some extensive research for pure entertainment to see the verity between Earth impacts from Space and Mythology and Religion. I read the oldest and most reliable information from around the world, from the Eddas, Vedas, Cuneiform, Hieroglyphics, the Bible, Maya Glyphs and codices, plus the myths of the Chinese, Japanese, Russian, North American Indigenous, Australia, Peru, ect. +++. What I found is, they are all singing the same tune, chanting the same lines, telling the same story... The story goes, that a large fiery mountain came out of the Pleiades and caused the Deluge and conflagration from the sky 13,000 years ago and killed many humans, exterminated a whole culture (the Clovis), and wiped out many mega fauna and that in the future it will happen again. This is why Mankind has always worshiped the Sun and had a constant vigil on the Stars, because he was deathly afraid it will be taken away again for a long period of time. It is still commemorated today with Halloween, the Festival of the Dead, and Ancestor Worship around the world.

A huge Comet shows up in the inner solar system 13kyrs. + ago and appears angelic in space and then part of it breaks off and is cast down into the atmosphere which gives the frightening effect of the Devil being cast into the pit (crater). I didn't take notes on extraneous specifics (IIRC, it is in Enoch.), but it says in the ancient texts that God and the Devil were playmates as children and when God found out he was evil he was cast down to Earth to cause destruction which is the Deluge and doing God's will to punish Man. In the antedated Cuneiform version it is the female Tiamat who brings chaos to the order of the universe (inner solar system) and is back staged planed by the Gods because Man didn't praise them and build temples enough. It all adds up, there is much much more to it.

It will take some time, I recall everyone opposing the KT Boundary back around 1980 and now it is basically a given.  Matter of fact there is a recent paper that correlates impact events to most of the extinction events.  Velikovsky made a mistake thinking Venus was the cause because he didn't dig deep enough to realize that mythology evolves, as does religion but that is another story.  Venus is basically at the end of the line and he equated it with the planet, but it goes way back to Tiamat and possibly the Mother Goddess as the causation, then it became Inanna, then Ishtar and probably at the same time Isis, then Aphrodite and Venus.  There is no way the planet Venus was captured 13kyrs. ago, it was a huge comet that produced the Taurid Stream / the Zodiacal Light and about the only thing left is comet 2p/Encke.  Look up the Carolina Bays and Saginaw Bay.  The denial is deep, some say fish fins, beaver tails, wind, gas bubbles, but anyone with an open mind and a little bit of scientific common sense can see that they are secondary impacts that litter the USA.  And it fits perfectly with the Pleistocene megafauna extinction aka the the Younger Dryas Impact 'Hypothesis'.

Revelation 8:8  "...the 2nd angle sounded the trumpet (Like the blast of the Chelyabinsk Super Bolide.) : and as it were a Great Mountain, burning with Fire, was cast into the sea..."

There are piles of stories like this from around the world, just like the flood stories.  There is no way all of these cultures could make up the same stories in the past and now in the future are understood as actual natural phenomena, such as mountains falling from the sky, tsunamis, and atmospheric dust veils to block out the Sun.

I will look to see what I have for a more concise view of the subject and or specific legends asap.

If you... erm... say so
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Can I have a summary please? An asteroid hit the earth or something, is that what this is?

Where is the crater from the earth shattering kaboom 12.9 thousand years ago?

And?  So?   Why should I care?

robvalue -   An Inner Solar System Space Debris hit the Earth 13kyrs. ago and started religion.

Vic -  Now pass on the information so when it happens again there will be less chance that the 5th Age of Man won't be killing each other over who's view point of a misinterpreted God did it instead of understanding it is a natural phenomena.  And of course, promulgate NEO protection so we as a species don't have to start all over again.

Anomalocaris -  On top and in the Laurentide Ice Sheet somewhere around the Great Lakes.

drfuzzy -  And?  There is only so much time in a day.  So?  Guess you don't care, move along to a better thread.  Why should you care?  To understand the world in which you live better?

Tough crowd.  I recall my suicidal / homicidal step-father almost knocking over his chair as he leapt up and screaming 'Kill the Bitch!' at the TV when Madalyn Murry OHair was brought up on the news just before Hee Haw not that long ago.  Now I are one and just trying to impart some knowledge that I learned, I figured there was plenty of room on the internet.

Or maybe I could go into a long dissertation of what ya'll left out on the 1970's thread...

I'm confused, are you saying a naturally occurring meteorological event caused humans to believe in sky gods? If so, you might want to add a little TLBig GrinR summary to your post. Because skimming it, I got a feeling it was defending actual events in said religious texts, not explaining them in a natural way.
