Veganism & vegetarianism
RE: Veganism & vegetarianism
Really AFTT? So why do I find dozens of youtbube videos (like the one I posted earlier Link) with young women saying they got cavities after following the 80/10/10 diet? In that same video you'll see she claims to be a "health coach", although as I understand it she no longer does this. Is she qualified? No. Read on...

She took an IIN "course", which is a non-accredited training program no different to going to one of Doug Graham's training programs. Here's the IIN "curriculum":

It's no different to Scientology claiming to be a "better" "alternative" to psychiatry. The problem with nutrition is that unlike other areas of health such as dentistry, pharmacy, or primary care, it is not illegal for people to sell advice on diet without any qualification. That's what IIN capitalises on, they just churn out people with some basic knowledge about health, the program itself is next to useless in terms of qualifying people to practise, but they encourage their "graduates" to practise as "health coaches" anyway.

The video even blatantly lies about how most nutritionists practise. "Most nutrition experts give their clients a list of foods to avoid, which is why people are so turned off by healthy eating". Not even remotely true. Most nutrition experts look at how to balance nutrition in their client's diet, and that's done through a number of ways, but mainly by adding specific foods to their existing dietary practise. The problem is people are fucking stupid, for example it doesn't matter how many times a nutritionist tells them not to take dietary supplements, they just do it anyway. The video claims students will learn about "superfoods"... there's no such thing as a "superfood". It might get talked about a lot by the public, and in marketing, but it's a meaningless term not used in dietetics.

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke

Presenting:  DOCTOR BORU'S AMAZING GET FIT PROGRAMME!!

I may not have told you folks, but I happen to be a fully qualified nutrition and fitness expert.  My qualifications include (but are not limited to) about 20 minutes spent reading some (but not all) of the posts in this thread and making a couple of snarky comments.  The result of this rigorous training and self-education has inspired me to  create the following get-fit system.  I'm sharing this with you lot free of charge, but I ask you to keep it to yourselves, as I plan to sell the programme online for 29.99 (it will include a DVD of some actual, un-retouched photos I took of genetically lucky people on various beaches).

Here it is:

When people tell me 'Nothing is impossible', I have the urge to hand them a regulation bowling ball and say, 'Ok, take a bite out of this'.

Nothing makes me want to cannibalise someone more than hearing some sanctimonious asshole pontificate about how eating meat is bad.

I eat meat but could easily give it up. Lots of my favourite things don't have meat in. Beer, chips (that's Freedom fries to you martians), pizza without bits of meat on top, beer again, macaroni cheese (that's mac'n'cheese to you .. oh never mind), marmite, baked potatoes, (with marg and beans), the list is endless.
