I didn't watch the series on a regular basis. It did deviate too much from the actual film for my tastes. Which I adore.
Nevertheless, RIP.

Wayne was a sharp lookin' man. Loved the humor he evinced in the show.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

I was more of a BJ guy myself, but both were great, I think the show was better with Frank in it because he made blind patriotism look fucking stupid.

Loved MASH growing up, but didn't understand all the situational comedy until I was in the Army. Knowing the context made it that much funnier.

I prefer the movie, so Elliot Gould will always be Trapper John to me. But the series was great too.
I read somewhere once that Trapper was supposed to have been the central character of the series, but Alan Alda became such a dominant force within the show that Wayne was quickly relegated to a role as more of Hawkeye's sidekick, which didn't sit well with him and contributed to his leaving the show when he did.
I like him in the show though, and am sorry to hear he's gone.

Yeah this is sad. I did like original movie a lot, but I also liked the TV show. I mean you can't look at them as the same thing.
Also I remember seeing this guy acting in some really low movie as an orange seller on a highway that gets payed by a million dollar bill. Like most of the cast he unfortunately didn't have much of carrier outside of the show. At least he shined again when he was in those IBM commercials with most of the other cast members. It seems too bad they didn't turn those IBM commercials into regular sitcoms. I mean REALLY!!

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
