RE: Brainstorm
For Kitan and Pengy, I don't wish for the destruction of religion because I do not desire to control what other people are into. Part of why I am an atheist is the desire to live in and experience the real world. Making massive changes to the world by fucking with other people's choices would conflict with that desire. There are very few things so heinous that I would feel the need to co-opt the choices of others. I'm not saying there are no circumstances in which I would oppose other people's choices, but their deepest held values isn't one of them.

Are you into Star Trek? Think of it as the prime directive.

I never consider it my place to try to tell other people what to think or how to feel or what to believe. That's main issue I had with religion. So for me to turn around and tell religious people to stop believing would be hypocritical. If it's something you want to get passionate about getting rid of religion, more power to you I guess. I won't be joining and I don't really think it will ever be successful.

Great that's awesome, despite EP having ignored all the questions and points made to him about this thread, I thought our discussion of the OP was quite interesting. So, I'll move over to your thread.

We can call this the kiddie table, and let your thread be in the fancy dining room where no one is allowed to spill their sippy cups on the table cloth Wink Angel

Your perspective is not not not wrong.

It seems not everyone agrees that religion is bad. In light of that, my initial question seems obsolete now. I think it would be reasonable to point out, however, that the conversation has since evolved beyond that. It seems to me like now we're arguing whether religion is good or bad and whether we should somehow constrain it, be apathetic towards it or even encourage it( for some, I'm sure).

I have no idea what you're talking about. I have only witnessed discussion of my opinions and/or about the topic initially fowarded by me. If you would have talked about the OP, I would have responded to that, as I specifically asked anyone willing to do so.

If you don't like my thread, no one is making you post in it. If others don't like it, the same holds for them. However, we cannot have a conversation about anything if you and Evie are going to hijack it with your "humorous" content instead of focusing on the problem under discussion in a serious manner. Your flimsily veiled attacks didn't escape my notice, either.

Right, I addressed a question to you about your OP, but you ignored it. Kitan, on the other hand responded to it, and we have been having a lovely adult discussion about your OP. Without you. Because you're only here to cause drama and you clearly had no intentions of a serious discussion in the first place.

RE: Brainstorm
@ EP An example being you ignored both Losty's and my serious response to your question and only responded to our jokes, and you took offence at their non-seriousness, it's ridiculous.

It's like you expect your thread to be serious when it's not your thread, no one owns threads, you just created it. You don't get to decide whether the responses you get are serious or not, jokes are not against the forums rules and you can't declare something off-topic simply because it's a joke.

Again, why not address the serious fucking responses Exhilarated Pigeon?

We've actually been having a conversation without you. You're just not paying attention.

Could you please either direct me to the post that prompted this discussion between the two of you, or might you repeat the question?

RE: Brainstorm
EP, I think some of these all-in-one threads you've started aren't really a great idea. Rather than having one brainstorming thread for all situations requiring brain storming, isn't it better to go on organizing threads by topic into various sub-forums? It makes it easier to search for relevant past topics for one thing.

I'd recommend starting a new thread for each topic you'd like to brainstorm.

Absolutely, love. Just a sec.
