Brainstorm
RE: Brainstorm
Well, let's see if the thread survives a change of topic.

What does an Utopia look like for you and how do we get there?

What a peculiar thing to say. Neither am I. Who is?

What a naïve thing to say.

Although the antitheists who think a police state is a small price to pay for eradicating religion are a small minority, it's not small enough by a long shot. Here when someone suggests an extreme 'solution', they're kidding. That's not always the case in the wild.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

Why get rid of religion when what really destroys the world are corrupt elites? I'm thinking that if we get rid of them, we might, consequentially, start seeing a decrease in religious belief. After all, living in poverty and marginalization doesn't help, and elites take advantage of this. Few of them want informed educated people, and many fear the consequences of a growingly aware anti-establishment generation, which is a reality.

Religion is a byproduct of ignorance, and as such, unless we all become omniscient there'll always be room for ignorance and religion.

Religion declines as education improves. It is logical enough to assume that this trend will continue worldwide, and the problem will take care of itself. Our lifespans are usually too short and fleeting to see significant change, but significant change has happened before us and will continue on after us.

Now, fuck religion. Let's brainstorm how we're going to feed the world as desertification accelerates and human population continuing to rise.

How about radical de-population by choosing not to procreate?  Is a planet with ten billion people on it really better than one with half a billion people but with room for other creatures to live in natural habitats?

"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

That's fascism, not antitheism. Get your definitions straight. Being an antitheist only means being against religion/theism. To take a "further" step and be against people, that's new territory, one antitheism doesn't cover. That's misanthropy/authoritarianism.

The only problem being is I wouldn't feel safe in that environment. Maybe if you replaced the Muslim with a Jain.
