Why More Americans Want to Own Guns

There are three kinds of lies.
Lies. Damn lies. Statistics. (March 10, 2016 at 12:30 pm)Gawdzilla Wrote: Don't let the "militia" bit fool you. You may have seen the "massive mobilization of patriotic militia men" when that siege went down in Oregon? Drunks with guns do not make a militia. Feel free to ignore the following historical account. Um, no. The Bill of Rights was adopted December 15, 1791; the British burned Washington August 24, 1814. In fact, Washington D.C. was only being surveyed in 1791.
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.
You misunderstood. The militia was called up in the War of 1812 to defend Washington. They fail abysmally.

Only one party wants to do anything to reduce it, the other party simply wants to protect the profits of another industry.
Not sure why you quoted me there.

You're referring here, though, to the problem of crony capitalism, not our gun problem. I don't see either party trying to address that separate problem in any case...they both seem content to belly up at the trough. To which party are you referring, specifically?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Maybe we should try to spread Washingtons letter's, rather than democracy, over in the middle east.

Here's a 'murrican with a gun who just needs it because he doesn't like to argue.

People claim they keep guns for defense. The DGU page says different.
