Jewish Geneology: A Fraud?

RE: Jewish Geneology: A Fraud?
Yes, it's stupid and barbaric.  Any other questions?

P.S.  "Everyone else did it, mom" sounds like a naughty six year old who gets caught.

As stupid as facing death for not practising it though? Remember you can choose how yo sacrifice your animal, it's not as if you have to cause it undue pain and suffering - just slit its throat over your sacrificial alter and you're done.

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

In today's culture - no. But you're judging ancient cultures by modern standards. Most of the Roman gods weren't as well behaved as Jehovah - they were ill-tempered and required constant sacrifices to curry their favour and fend off their anger. And as there were hundreds of different gods all capable of disrupting everyday life in one way or another it seemed reasonable to the ancient Romans to simply do as they demanded. The only reason that Christians weren't doing it in the second and third centuries in Rome is because they sincerely believed that their god didn't want them to. Which made their god kind of unusual - he wasn't the unstable difficult to predict type of god that other Romans were used to appeasing.

That's a joke, right?
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

No it's not a joke, they required constant sacrifices from their followers. Jehovah wasn't as unstable and prone to releasing constant havoc on his followers (or so his followers thought anyway).

The Yehovah of old was as hungry for sacrifice and as willing the wreak havoc as his roman collegues. The only difference being, the Greeks as well as the Romans had a celestial government with each god representing a certain department. So sacrifices couldn't be shipped to only one mail adress.

But Yehovah is just the same as all the other ancient gods. He came fully equipped with human vices and preferences.
