Quote:The presumption that most single parents are mothers is accurate. According to the Census data:

Approximately 82.2% of custodial parents are mothers, and
17.8% of custodial parents (approximately 1 in 6) are fathers

I'm curious though, why are there so many single mothers?

You just answered your own question. If by single parent you mean the person who has custody of their kid, then most of them are women because the women are the ones who usually take on the responsibility.

Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Dude. You can't be this dense.

How do women become pregnant? It doesn't happen in a vacuum.

Let's also not forget, that one irresponsible pr*ck with a bicycle can create half a dozen single mothers in a weekend.

(in straight talk please, no beating around the Bush)
Nobody's beating around the bush, boo. You asked why there are so many single mothers. I think your question is loaded. I think it's biased. A better question would be why there are so many single parents.

Okay, let me get this straight, I do know that there are so many single parents, I also know that there are so many single mothers. My question was why is this happening? Why would you think this question is loaded? Is it because you know the answer already? Because I don't, if you do know the answer to my loaded, please could you share it?

Woman and man have sex. They make baby. They spilt up. Baby has a mom. Baby has a dad. No matter where baby lives, baby has a momma and a dadda that made him. Two single parents.

Because people have sex without protection and then split up, or one of the parents dies.

So you're saying the statistics I posted is wrong?
RE: What's the point in dating single mothers?
When a woman raises her child by herself she is a single mother (parent).

When a man raises his child by himself he is a single dad (parent).

Do we agree on this?
If we do, my question is, why are there so many single mothers?
