I finally got around to checking out the video and not bad.

The links to the 'pros that know" do not know what kind of training she may have received.

I noticed a lack of evidence that it would destroy her for life.

Personally, I think kids should be doing physics and calculus by the ninth grade, so something simple like singing? Give me a break. I have been on a school bus and they spent more time screaming at the top of their voices for a much much longer time than that short performance.

KUDOS kid.

Lol you really don't know what you are talking about haha.

The pros are correct. For kids with no aspirations for a career in singing, we would not worry so much abut damage to their vocal cords from yelling. But this little girl clearly DOES have musical aspirations, so we should respect her age and not break her young.
There may be no physical damage, even, but without proper training and lifelong care, she is harming her chances of a lifelong career.

That being said, kudos to her indeed for her raw talent and amazing passion! I hope she finds a vocal coach that can cease the exploration and bring her along at a reasonable pace.

P.s., as a huge fan of opera with friends who do this professionally, I found it both painful and inspring to listen to. She's obviously not physically capable of that performance, but her passion and raw talent are still quite moving. My sincere best wishes to that child!

I feel compelled to post an original version as well, not just the transposed-to-Mezzo-Soprano nonsense above.

I think when you compare it to above version I posted, it becomes clear that it doesn't really work for a Mezzo Soprano even if an accomplished singer does it. Of course Kaufmann is one of the best Tenors there are, but still.
