‘Building blocks for life’ may originate in space

In 2014 the Rosetta space probe reached a comet that is orbiting in our solar system. A small lander vehicle detected the presence of glycine on the comet, an unexpected discovery as the glycine molecule is an amino acid. Amino acids form the basis for proteins, and are an essential element of all life on earth. But how did these amino acids come to be present on earth?

My response prediction:

The amino acids, like glycine, were on Earth already. When the "Great Flood" hit, it shot debris out into space, some which contained amino acids, and some of which landed on asteroids/comets/planets/moons....etc.

glycine in comets would not appear to me to really argue that abiogenesis didn't happen here on earth.  So I am not sure how this significantly boosts panspermia.
