So I've been thinking about this whenever someone asks me where I'm from. What decides which ethnicity someone belongs to? Both my parents are kurdish but I was born here in Sweden. So, if someone asks me where I'm from what is correct to respond? I was born in sweden so if we speak literally I am from sweden, am I not? But as a person am I swedish or am I kurdish? Is it correct to say both? What decides if I'm swedish or not, is it my genetics? Is it where I'm born? Is it where my parents are from?
Am I a kurd from Sweden?
You get kudos just for having "You're nothing you peasant" as an option.
It seems to me genetically you're Kurdish aren't you? And Swedish by nationality. I mean Kurdish is a nationality too but ethnically I imagine you're similar genetically to other Kurdish people from that region .
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.

You're a Kurdish Swede.

My blood is 100% Greek. (What does that even mean?)
I think pride in nationality and culture is what people identify with.
I was born here in AU. I have been 100% assimilated into the AU culture.
Sure, I can tell people I'm an Aussie born Greek, but what exactly is Greek about me anymore? I'm not sure?
Not that I've got anything against them! (even though the idiots can't manage their economy! lol)
I'm more interested in how muslims identify. By country of origin? By new found culture? or by religious branding? egh: Shia, Sunni? etc.
