If she was a time traveller she wouldn't be stupid enough to wander around the streets talking on her phone.

I thought this was explained some time ago. It's most likely a Siemens 1924 hearing aid which happens to be a small black box you hold up to your ear.

Why would a fucking time traveller be walking around a charlie chaplin set on a mobile phone? Wouldn't they have a more important assignment like, i dunno, telling us all to stop using fossil fuels? Preventing world war 2? etc....
