Pierogies are really thick and pasty inside, IMO...almost gummy. Maybe they just need some sauce or gravy or something.
I sauteed mine with butter, garlic, and red onions. The flavor was good, but I couldn't get past that texture. Really reminded me of spackling paste.
To me, they are no different than gnocchi, which is pasta and potatoes in a bland cream sauce. And I'm not fond of that either.
