I don't think it's necessarily atheism itself that makes one more intelligent but education is correlated with many good things and those things are correlated with atheism. So, in other words, if I see an atheist, I'd probably regard them as more educated and that in turn usually means more intelligent. However there are educated dumb fucks and there are non-educated geniuses i.e their cognitive abilities/fluid intelligence is far better

There are some studies that show a small IQ difference between atheists and theists, but it is negligible.

As previously said, theists do not become smarter when they shake off their indoctrination.

Better informed maybe...

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

DEPRESSION is a common sign for atheists, such a pity.
