Cures and Capitalisim

RE: Cures and Capitalisim
It needs to be noted that cancer isn't a single disease, but a category of many diseases that share similar manifestations, much like Muscular Dystrophy. Therefore, it's pretty unlikely that there would ever be a single cure for all cancers, let alone that it would be hidden away.

It's probably been said, but there are far too many scientists and academics working at universities and hospitals that do the research for treatments and cures because they are passionate about helping people and not making a buck for there to be a widespread conspiracy to suppress any treatments.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Imagine you're a big, BIG pharmaceutical company - thousands of employees, capitalization in the tens of billions, and a profit margin that would make a heroin dealer gulp with disbelief. Which of the following would you rather manufacture and sell:

1. An antibiotic that people take every day for a couple of weeks, or

2. An antidepressant that people take every day forever?

Almost every human takes antibiotics several times in their lives. The majority of humans never take antidepressants. So I'd say, both?

You made intimations that it could be true, at least partly. Apparently my problem is your comments.

Anything better than to educate a 12 year old? Not at this particular time.

You wanna fucking know something.

I'm sorry...
You have a point.
And yeah, whatever I did.
I'm sorry.
Excuse my language it's just that they sound nice.

I hope you accept my apology I was mad.
And I attacked you, so yeah.
That's all I have to say.
That I'm very very sorry.

No problem, I'll extend apologies also. Learning experience for both.

Yes I understand it is a mutation in which a cell won't die.

Yeah CRISPR is pretty rad. I work at the NIH and see some stuff about CRISPR just about every day.
