That was done by Islamic militants who acted contrary to their own religion. Beheading is not an acceptable action in Islam except during Jihad which can be carried out only for the purpose of self-defense.

Even in self defence beheading someone is barbaric. Self defence is exactly what the name implies, DEFENCE. Beheading someone is not an act of defence, no matter how you want to dress it.
When you said "Beheading is not an acceptable action in Islam" I thought hmmm, that sounds reasonable.
Then you said "except"
Damn. Got my hopes up.

Really?
And what about the Taliban attacking school girls in Kabul with acid?
And they will say that you are not a real muslim because you don't believe the way they do.

Maybe I didn't clarify enough, but I what I meant to say is that only jihad is to be undertaken for self-defense, not beheading. Jihad is forbidden against non-combatants and those who allow us to follow the religion, as the Quran states, "Thus, if they let you be, and do not make war on you, and offer you peace, God does not allow you to harm them" (4:90). Therefore, jihad is only right when we are being attacked first (which is for self-defense). The Quran doesn't say that we have to do beheading, but just that it is allowed in a time of war including any other method of killing to defeat the enemy.

Such actions of the Taliban are being carried out mainly for the purpose of instilling fear and control over the Muslims. Attacking school girls with acid is something that almost every Muslim would find un-Islamic except for the the Taliban themselves. Although yes, the Taliban will say that those who disagree with them are not true Muslims, or that they don't have faith, but this doesn't mean that their actions are justified either.

Rayaan, do you ever wonder if you're truly and absolutely right about what you believe?
I do.
You know why? Because people have presented me with SUCH compelling arguments that I HAD to consider my position.
Have you never considered yours?
You have been presented with numerous, sizable and very legitimate arguments, and it makes me wonder .... Is Rayann always 100% sure about Islam?
Don't you ever just have a sliver of doubt about that "peaceful" religion you so defend???

They would argue vehemently with you on that point rayaan.
Beheading is an act of execution rayaan.

No this religion is perfect.
Let me give you an example....
if you read the book "One second after"
You'll find that after a certain disaster hits a small community, the mayor implements marshal law to keep the community safe once the food shortages occurs.
So basically they implement food rationing and give certain people in the community more rations than others. They implemented death sentences to punish thieves! Essentially 4-5 people wasting time in the mayor's office to think long and hard to come up with the right laws that can protect the community. And to be honest I think much of the laws they implemented was flawed. For example, many citizens just couldn't take it and they killed themselves. Others became cannibalistic...etc.
"Shariah law" however has the perfect balance of laws that will protect the community during both the rough times and the good times.

A silver of doubt? Yes, because without it, there wouldn't be any such thing as faith.
