Another Circumcision thread
RE: Another Circumcision thread

I don;t believe that cutting off any one part of me is more or less abusive than cutting off any other.  Someone cuts off my hand, I'll beat them to death with the other one. If they bite off a portion of my ear...I'll gnaw at their face.... If they cut off my foreskin......well, turnabout is fair play....but I'll get a little more meat in my hands.

Quote:And, again, you don't have to stretch yourself that far to find the benefits... decreased risk of UTIs, STDs, and penile cancer, as well as (obviously) zero risk of phimosis. I admitted that the benefits probably do not warrant the surgery, but stop pretending they don't exist.
You should take a look at the meta-analysis of those claimed benefits.  You'll find that they disappear like mist when you account for what demographics the uncut and those with stds overlap into.  Some demographics are more likely to be uncut than others, and those demographics are also more likely to have an std.  It's not their dick...cut or uncut, giving them syphilis.  Pro tip...regardless of whether or not you have foreskin, don't dip your wick into a dirty pool. If you -do- dip your wick into a dirty pool...don't imagine that your lack of foreskin is going to save you, even by a percentage.

Quote:There you go, losing me again talking about how much we're "traumatizing" babies with this operation. I asked you this before: where's the psychological damage I suffered on that terrible day?
Again I will only ask you whether or not remembering something makes it better or worse...and whether or not ..you think..people disassociate or forget when they are subject to trauma.  We don;t remember much of anything from our childhood, in truth, but that doesn;t change the nature of what has been or might have been done to us.

Go find a video, watch it be done, imagine that it doesn;t hurt, that the child is not in absolute terror...and when they shut up, and play dead, imagine that they aren;t..at that moment, trying as best they can to block it out and forget...oh, and ofc.....watch it and be indifferent. Good luck, you were that little kid, once upon a time. If you're having trouble empathizing, try saying "this was me, this was me, this was me" in your head while you watch. Might bring it home.

Dissociative trauma and mind compartmentalization.

You know what, Rhythm? You're probably right about the reasons for my indifference. I probably would feel a different way if I were not circumcised. But you know what else? I still love jacking off, I still love getting laid, and my experience being circumcised as a newborn has absolutely no demonstrable psychological side effects. So as much as I want to finally agree and put this matter to bed (since I always seem to get wrapped up in the circumcision topics) I just can't reach that conclusion. Circumcision has had such a minimal impact on my life and well-being. And I'm not sure what choice I'll make if I ever have a baby boy, but guess what? Even if I do decide to circumcise him, odds are the operation will have a minimal impact on his life and well-being too.

And no, the foreskin is not nearly comparable to the hand. Cutting off foreskin is ten times less abusive than cutting off your goddamn hand.

You'd love it even more if you could use your foreskin to do it. Tongue

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Would you rather be a piston than a cylinder bore ?

Sociologically there are currently more advantages to having a cylinder, but I'm happy with my piston even if it's missing the cowl. Thumb up

If you say so.  I call assault assault, regardless of what portion of the body was assaulted, lol.

You're right though..... if you have a boy and circumcise him, odds are it will have a minimal impact (in all honesty, no impact) on his life and well being. Which is to say, -you cut off a portion of his dick for no reason-.

Some people, think that's abuse. Get it now?

my husband is cut, his brother is not.

My husband thinks there is no harm in being cut and prefers it.

My brother in law finds the idea of getting cut to be fairly abhorrent.

It seems that what you have is what you find normal, unsurprisingly, and the other way seems wierd and gross.

I think atheists get worked up no more than anyone else, as demonstrated by how fervently religiosity folks defend the cutting. it's just a hot topic right now.

I completely agree.  I just enjoy having all this attention focused on the most fun part of my anatomy.  I appreciate hearing from you and the other ladies especially.

As for what you do in the privacy of your own home (or hospital) .. if you shouldn't be able to sculpt your own kids, who should?

Parents shouldn't have a say in the matter.

That's all there is to say here. If you think you should be allowed to mutilate your child just because you've been mutilated yourself, that's fucking idiotic.

It's mutilation. Literally. There's no reason for it. It's stupid. Stop doing it to little kids who don't know what's being done to them, world, that's all.

Can't we just all agree that it is just simply child abuse. I cannot imagine any parent in their right minds would allow a stranger to literally cut a piece of skin off their flesh and blood and then celebrate afterwards. I mean, imagine a stranger who just casually walks up to your child and decides he wants a piece of ear, I don't think for one moment any SANE parent would allow it and they would possibly kill the fucker and with every right. So, what is the difference? For me, there is none.
