Another "science" deception

funny title!
Anyway, the point that I'm trying to make: why I think people (well, there must be some) bow down to a video such as this.
It is SCIENCE - we are in an era where the focus of everything is SCIENCE. And, as a result, people cease to give any importance to anything, but to "science" (or, what is labeled as science, it doesn't necessarily have to really be scientific).
And, as you see this video, it is filled with scientific things (images, scientific explanations, etc.) which say much more than the verses in the qur'an say, and with a serious tone, which is... not arabic (this way, it may appear as a western discovery for some people).
Point is: fill a bullshit with science, and for the feeble minded it appears as "modern" and "scientific", and therefore... credible.
just thought that somebody might be interested in the point I was trying to make.
P.S. I don't know cell biology and stuff about embryos, so if you do know, and the scientific explanations are combined with bullshit... know that I have an excuse :p

It's nothing more than retrofitting or shoehorning passages in the Koran to fit what we already know. It's like in another atheist forum I was on where a Muslim claimed that the Koran was 100% correct because it has a passage somewhere that says something like all iron comes from Allah in the heavens which he translated to mean that asteroids which are mostly iron come from the sky, or outer space. We pointed out that there is plenty of iron in the earth, and in fact the earth's core is made up of molten iron, so he shoehorned the passage to mean that Allah made the iron which formed the earth's core come from heaven. Quite pathetic, really.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

the best part is when they force the translation of the text. you know, when it means "circle", it translates it into "celestial sphere" - well, here, the fact is that most surely arabic is here as hebrew: you don't have a specific word meaning "circle" and a specific word meaning "sphere", but a word that means both, to specify roundness. But the fact remains: they twist the translation from arabic to fit a scientific thing (and many times it hardly fits anything).

I failed to understand how anything they quoted from the Koran really had anything to do with what they were explaining. The second quote 'man comes from allaq,' which it says is something that lives off of another, claims to explain the zygote latching onto the uterus wall. This actually sounds more like an ancient interpretation of the umbilical chord, but they use it anyway in a desperate attempt to make their holy book seem scientifically valid.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Iron, and indeed all the heavy elements are synthesized in the hearts of stars. Nuclear fusion. No mystery about it. If that had been "revealed" to the dear illiterate 'prophet', then we'd have something to talk about.

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didn't understand the assignment. I told them they didn't understand life.

the funny thing about Islam & science is that no islamic thing has ever been useful for scientific development.
Besides, consider that Muhammud (who was illiterate) was explaining to other illiterate people. What possibility could have been of Muhammud teaching them about atoms (as muslims currently claim) and embryology and stuff like that?
But yeah, the video is filled with lots of "science" to give a better impression.

Why is some people feel that the one who shouts the loudest wins the argument?

IF YOU SHOUT LOUD ENOUGH, YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO HEAR YOUR OPPONENTS REFUTE YOUR ARGUMENTS! THIS WAY NO ONE CAN HEAR THE OTHER GUY SPEAKING!
See?
Or it could be an Alpha male thing?
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Or it could be an Alpha male thing? If you watch "World's Worst Drivers" you'll see a very even spread of loud-mouthed argumentative types, so no, it's not a male thing. It's an asshole thing.
I used to work for State Farm Insurance, handling auto claims. One accident involved a young lady pulling out of a parking aisle into the main traffic route. She hit another car. When I called that claim in favor of the other driver her boyfriend called up and started yelling at me. I put the phone on the desk, went for coffee, and he was still yelling when I got back. I'm not sure if he thought yelling at me would change my mind or he was doing it to please his main squeeze. But those folks just don't seem to realize that volume isn't equal to probity.
