Agreed Minn, and again, especially now, it is not wrong one bit, and completely apt to equate Trump's hyper nationalism and demagoguery to that of Hitler. 

There were tons of Germans whom were desperate because of the great depression, a depression caused by the same no rules gambling Bush and GOP caused the great recession. Hitler took advantage of that desperation and sold himself as the only cure and that populism worked. 

And it was not the sudden takeover some idiots on the right think. Nobody when Hitler first got politically active WHEN people first took notice, thought he would end up the dictator he became. Most of them simply wanted food on their table and a job, and at worst wanted the deportation of those they thought were taking their jobs. Even some German Jews very early on supported him, not many, but some because they were nationalists too. But the lobster of the post WW1 Germany got boiled very slowly over a decade which allowed Hitler to consolidate his power finally.

Trump right now can only talk sure, but if more politicians use the same vile demagoguery we can be that same boiled lobster in a decade. Dictators never rise overnight, like any movement they also have to gain support over time. It is a mistake to see one point in history, where a government is toppled as being the totality of the sudden moment.

It will only be avoided long term as long as we keep our voices up. Trump has been talking like a despot for the past 5 years, and it would be a very dangerous to think stupidly that it is all just an act. It may be to him, but again, if more politicians adapt that act those politicians add up over time.

Think about it. The US has been trying to assassinate Castro for 50 years. If he’d been the villain they painted him to be somebody close to him would have betrayed him. You can’t win loyalty with an iron fist. Not the kind of loyalty that allows you to defy the west for half a century.

Castro drove the gamblers and graft out of Cuba. So of course the US is pissed that he died of old age rather than at their hands. By buying the propaganda, you miss the main message of his life is that the west can be defied.

BULLSHIT, I am a liberal, and no, just because some calling themselves left, and just because I agree with free health care and free higher education, does not give you the licence to make the false assumption that I agree with them or CASTRO.

Yeah, I'm about as liberal as it's possible to make us, and I would not for a second defend Castro in anyway. I merely understand the reasons why he rose to power and why some people would celebrate him.
