It would be nice if the OP could define oppression.
As it stands the use of the word by the OP is incredibly broad, and makes it difficult to actually attempt to measure.
e.g. Inferring that Natural Oppression exists, fat people being oppressed(you mean manipulated) by the sugar industry.

I think that's the point, lol.
The idea, is to categorically delegitimize the concept and any who express it, so as to avoid confronting either those peoples concerns or the reality of the world we live in.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The reality of the world we live in is people are prone to hysteria and ingroup bias. People who are not oppressed claim oppression in order to justify regressive legislation and societal customs. This is not a new thing; for example the nazis thought the jews were their oppressors.

Do you think that explanation more closely parallels the situation of white america, or black america?

Yeah, no shit. I'm sitting next to my oppressor right now fighting over the TV remote. I need to send her back to wife school.

Mine will talk through whatever I'm trying to watch until I fall asleep. Then she'll take the remote, put on the goddamned "Entertainment News" channel, hide the remote, and fall asleep herself. When I wake up, it usually takes about five minutes to locate the remote just so I can put on the real news.
This is my new normal.

Can you provide specific examples of why bringing up nazis was more appropriate than other movements that objected to oppression, like the Civil Right movement, Womens Suffrage, South African apartheid, etc?
It sounds like you are starting a discussion about why you think people claiming oppression today are just falling prey to hysteria. But then after your thesis, you move straight into "remember the nazis".
