Knife or gun, if someone wants to ambush you you are far less likely to be able to reach your holstered firearm. If someone has knife to your back you are going to get hurt to some degree regardless if you have a gun. If they have a gun to your back you better either have a bullet proof vest on or you better be superman, because the person who AMBUSHED YOU is at the advantage, and if you flinch one bit, it is highly likely they will pull their trigger before you pull yours.

Yes you could stick your thumb in my ass, but unless I can see that it is just your thumb if you say you have a gun to my back, if I don't know you, I am going to assume you do. Because if I assume it is just your thumb and and it turns out you have gun, I'm dead.

Cops and Military have guns, but they DONT always fire in every situation. Your bullshit intent will get YOU hurt far more likely.

Cops also retreat when needed, they talk a suspect down and that happens far more than actually firing their weapons. Reality isn't Dirty Harry or John Wayne. I can tell you, if you applied to become a police officer, you'd wash out with your bullshit attitude. Survival isn't about defaulting to using a gun.

"IN YOUR HEAD" doesn't mean shit when you now claim, which seems to be back peddling now, "I always look for a way out"...... WHERE? HOW? Because only TRAINING and constant upkeep of that training is what increases chances of surviving. Conflict as a default position and dreaming up a happy ending in your head DOES NOT COUNT. Reality doesn't give one shit about your good intent.

Hitting a target when not under stress means nothing. Survival when faced with real physical threat is far different and survival DOES NOT include fire first. If you don't face that, and you refuse to accept that, a gun will not help you.

1. Saying we make too many IS NOT A CALL FOR AN ALL OUT  BAN.
2. Saying we dont do enough to keep them out of the hands of the mentally ill, domestic abusers and violent criminals also IS NOT A CALL FOR AN ALL OUT BAN.
