Besides, always adding dressings and sauces to foods only increases the calories one is consuming.
Food, from my experience, tastes just fine without any added crap.
Agreed. Except with a T-bone steak. That is obligatorily smothered in Crimini button mushrooms sauteed in butter and garlic. Bleu Cheese crumbles are optional, though, as is the grilled (just to point of translucency) red onion patty. Couple that with some roasted new potatoes and fresh grilled broccoli. It's a toss-up whether I like a Sam Adams Boston Lager or Bull's Blood of Eger better for the drink to accompany that. Yummaayy!

Dear his nana,
I miss you. Sometimes I think of you and casually think of stopping by to say hello, but then I remember. I'll never understand why it was so important to you that I'm atheist, that you and your family simply threw me away. I thought I had grown on you. It hurt. Anyway, I'm worried about you. I wish I could be there, too.
Dear his nana's kids,
I don't miss you. Still... I'm sorry you're going through this. I hope she comes out of it.
Ya know... I often wonder how a person like her could have kids like you. All of your machismo and hate... it's overflowing. What did I ever do to you? But yeah. I still feel horrible about what you're going through. I'm not just saying it. I'll be here.
Sigh.

CIJS, I need to just...plain...slow....down and look at all the facts before I chime in.

CIJS,
I went to my first mensa meeting today, which was hosted at a member's home: this member was very nice, and her hospitality was excellent. For the first hour, I briefly became acquainted with a nice gentleman whose name is Josh. In addition, I also observed the actual meeting and the various procedures and protocols that are involved in effectively discussing the evening agenda in a manner that enables all board members to contribute their thoughts, comments, proposals, etc. Once the meeting ended, everyone went to the kitchen to grab some dinner and desert; I brought a chocolate cake that I had bought from an Italian bakery, and according to various members, it was a hit.
After the first hour, there was a speaker for the evening who discussed game design and the process involved in successfully making a good game: replayability, art presentation, getting the game tested by multiple game testers (who are ideally neutral) and receiving honest feedback, creativity, and quick game play are key parts of this process that were mentioned by the speaker during her presentation; she is also a Star Trek fan.
Afterwards, we all just socialized with one another. I really enjoyed learning about the members who I interacted with. The host's husband considered himself a numbers guy and enjoyed the practical applications of math; he also enjoyed engines along with any mechanical thing that makes loud sounds. In addition, Josh, the gentleman who I had interacted with earlier, is a lawyer, so it was interesting to hear his thoughts on mediation (an interest of mine) and the need for more landlord/tenant mediators around my area of NJ.
With that said, tonight was a good experience for me: I definitely enjoyed being in the company of these people and am scratching my head trying to figure out why I have not attended these meetings/events sooner.

CIJS - I get tired of people throwing "Free Speech" around as if social repurcussions mean you are having your free speech blocked
"Free Speech" means that (in theory) you don't get censored, silenced or punished by the state for your speech, unless what you say is deemed threatening or incitement to violence. That's what it is. Regular people disagreeing with you, criticising you or even mocking you for saying some dumb shit is not censorship, or blocking free speech.

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable." - Maryam Namazie

I've felt that way almost every day for about a year and a half now, Regina.

CIJS - I love Commencement. All the students look so happy.
Edit: Also CIJS - David Fitzgerald's snark knows no bounds. Amazon recommended Nailed to me on Kindle; list price? $6.66 It's the first time Amazon's slightly lower than List pricing has made me think, "Most people I know would not buy this book at List price period."

Now you just need to send a message to your future-you to remind your future-future-you to keep reminding your future-future-future-you over and over to be patient.
