If it was the opinion of a mainstream media news organisation then I'd be shocked.

Okay, I can't find any reports that anyone on the scene said that. Here's the thing: the term "fight or flight response" is an incomplete understanding of the psychological reality of such situations. 4) Driver was a Straight Player

Though many people are expressing outrage after the crash, there are also many wondering if the outrage is not simply player hatred, rather than actually concern over the death of some useless sow.

I found the Google Cache page of the article from before those hackers took it over. The tweet was her condemning the hate that spawned the attacks. It mentions nothing of pick-up artistry. And so has nothing I've been able to trawl up about the killer.

5) Publicity Stunt by Dodge?
The same day of the crash, Dodge was promoting a “Roadkill Nights” event.

It is extremely coincidental that Dodge would be promoting “Roadkill Nights” the same day as a driver of their vehicle roadkilled a fat woman.

You know, there's times where I wonder if, during the "Anonymous" hack just before the site shut down, they decided to rewrite this article to make the Alt-Right motherfuckers look like even bigger idiots than they make themselves. But, as far as I can tell, it's real.

This incident is extremely good viral advertising for Dodge, and I have no doubt that they will start advertising the Challenger as a “fatty smasher.” They may also use the slogan “Dodge this!”

Because most companies would kill to advertise their products by how well they perform criminal activities. I can remember that time Ricardo Montalban did a Chrysler ad, but instead of talking about "rich Corinthian leather," he just ran over a bunch of people and praised how well the car was doing. And, that, dear friends, is parody.

However, it is unlikely that James Fields would agree to be involved in a publicity stunt like this, as he is likely facing life in prison.
So it is more likely that it was just meme magic.

Like I said, I seriously find myself wondering if some of the trolls who took over the site just before it got blammed off GoDaddy decided to do some Uncyclopedia-style edits to that article to make them look even more ridiculous, but somehow, I get the impression that a crucial part of their worldview boils down to them being as clueless and accepting of random violence they helped to foster as the Goddam Ice King is in this episode of Adventure Time:

The sad thing is I can't find any evidence that the "Troll vandalising the offensive article" theory is true besides the ridiculous content. And looking at the Wayback Machine, it appears the stupid text was original to the article (and yes, I made sure to use the earliest snapshot the Wayback Machine could find just to be sure my Poe's Law guess was actually false). And given that the byline is by founder Andrew Anglin, it would appear he's either A) been a master troll this whole time, or B) really that fucking Stupid Evil.
