Reading a bit about post-mastectomy reconstruction versus "going flat."
Reconstructed boobs are numb after reconstruction, did you know that? And often a different temperature than your body. Weird.
And no thanks.
Still leaning "flat."
If I want boobs I can always get a prosthesis to stuff down my bra.

But... doesn't it depend on how much tissue they actually remove?... and blood vessels... and nerves...
I wonder if the same thing happens with regular augmentation...
Augmentation is done by inserting the implant through a much smaller incision and it's under the existing tissue, either breast tissue or under the pectoral muscle. No loss of sensation and I would assume, since it's surrounded by healthy tissue, they would be the same temperature as your body.
With mastectomies, you're basically cut open, they scoop your boobs out and then stitch you closed. If you choose to get reconstruction, at the time of the mastectomy you'd probably get skin expanders put in which would stretch the chest skin back out for an implant.
So there's a big flap of skin that has been severed from blood vessels and nerves and it's under that skin flap that expanders and implants would go.
That is, if I went with implants and not fat grafts where they make new boobies out of your ass fat or something.
Imagine healing after
that surgery.

In work on a 14 hour shift, only got another 13 hours to go.

My daughter created a beautiful work of art using just paper, eyeliner and nail polish.
Of course, the place now smells like a fucking chemical factory and I've got half the windows open in the middle of winter.
She got a blue slip today from the school for stealing blue tac.
They would never have cottoned on to her if only half the posters round the school hadn't started falling down.
