I like that Alex.

I could never do a pickup line.

Sounds like a bad cliché, but we were both studying for physics finals and I was actually headed to the cafeteria next door. So sometimes coffee is really just coffee. I'm just saying that compliments are not the only thing to break the ice. It's not obvious that flattery is the way to go at all to find someone you like and vice versa.

I'd rather be plain-spoken than ingratiating.

Then again, I complimented a female colleague on her fancy dress the other day without any interest of having an affair (and I think that was understood). The dress really was awesome.

Yes! Because who do you want in a partner in the end (assuming that you're not working on picking up someone for a quick superficial fling), someone who first and foremost notices you because of some nice (real or pretend) feature of yours, or someone interesting you can talk to like a normal person.

Compliments are fine! It's ulterior motives that aren't. You go dude!

Plus, it helps from spoiling them. Smile

For reals, I've never spat game, just because I'm inept at it, but I think it's worked out for me.

Then I saw that Pool was the most recent member to comment, and it all made sense, lol. People are fighting. Because...for whatever reason, every single thread Pool jumps into ends in arguing. Every time. It's almost as if EP is reaching out to us from beyond the ban hammer.

Just making an observation.

Not my fault your friend Hammycunt insulted my ex.
Also, no idea why you came out of nowhere to put me down so fuck you and your buddy Hammycunt.

That will probably change as he starts banging away at a woman's proper role etc etc.

I don't think there's anything "wrong" with expressing interest in based on physical attributes alone. Some folks appreciate the attention. It can make some folks nervous or angry. It simply leaves some folks unimpressed, which is where I happen to fit in.

Point is, adding to one's repertoire stands to yield a better result when getting to know strangers.

heh heh....Yeah, you'd better run, Tex.
I'm coming for you.

Though I do thank you for not mentioning the little "issue" I have with missing my mouth when I take a sip of my drinks.... on occasion. Angel
