So, I'm sure you've all seen and probably taken the political compass quiz before. It benefits from the fact that it doesn't try to label you at the end. It just gives you some coordinates. Well, I'm here to give you a label. Ideology is NOT party, and it's generally according to your broader opinions on the government's role in society and the economy.
Here is a link to the Political Compass Quiz.
Now, here is the best map of ideologies I could find placed on the Compass.:
I suggest looking up your result to get a feel if it truly fits you. I suggest looking up the ones close to yours as well, in case perhaps those better fit your beliefs.
If you're curious, the U.S. Democrat Party is generally considered Neoliberal and the U.S. Republican Party is considered Conservative. They're right next to each other in the upper right. Many of you may be (or probably won't be) surprised about how far you deviate from the established parties' ideologies. For other countries, thankfully your parties are much more dispersed among the spectrum. Well, for a lot of the European ones anyway,
My results:
According to that, I am on the edge between 17. Social Democrat and 18. Classical Liberalism. But I most definitely believe more strongly in Social Democracy. In terms of civil liberties liberalism fits me, but for economics I certainly prefer a tightly regulated capitalist system. Classic liberalism calls for free market capitalism, something I certainly do not want. EDIT: Nvm, my eyes deceived me. I'm comfortably in the Social Democracy area. Which is what I expected. I was surprised to see how close I was to Classical Liberalism, but now I see I'm just an idiot.
What is your result?
EDIT: Reps to anybody who can manage to intentionally get Nazism. It's a pretty small area
