Actor Jim Nabors dies

Did that "Back Home Again in Indiana" song for a long time at Indy for the 500. Played Gomer Pyle, both on the Andy Griffith Show and his own eponymous show.

Watched him a lot growing up. I heard he was a good guy.

There are so many childhood icons for those who grew up in my era (born 1959) who are at the same age range as Nabors and are dropping like flies. It reminds of us of our own mortality.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

I was born in '75 and feel similarly, because there is some overlap. I never really watched his TV programs, except with the grandparents when I went to Ohio, but I did go to the 1989 Indy 500, and so I've certainly seen him sing.
