Vendors of Magic

Vendors of Magic
Jehovah's Witnesses - "We decided that long existing hell in doctrine was a mistake, there is no eternal hell, because it's way to extreme."
Muslims - " Numerous hadith attributed to Prophet Muhammad make clear that while heaven is eternal, hell is temporary".
Hardcore Christians - "Hell is eternal and heaven as well. Tremble with us".
Hindus - temporary reward and punishment in afterlife.
Buddhists - "Naraka(hell) is not eternal, though it is usually incomprehensibly long, from hundreds of millions to quintillions (1018) of years".

Everybody making shit up based on their mood and expect people to take it on faith.

"Vendors of magic" what a great title for a book! I feel inspired.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Well. That was disappointing. I came in here expecting to see something about Penn and Teller or Cris Angel or some other magician.

I feel cheated now.

At least most adults realise magic is a trick. Shame most haven't worked out that religion is too.

When will someone open a topic "Most embarrassing thing you said to your priest during confession"?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

How about "mind your own business?"

I can't since I didn't go to confession but I do remember I knew a guy that was Catholic, has Jesus tattoo and lived with his girlfriend and when he went to confession priest didn't want to give him the "absolution". I mean can you imagine these freaks going to some complete stranger and telling him about their private sex stuff and then this guy then condemns him.
