Winter

Winter
A cool morning breeze
To rustle her fading autumn leaves
It has been a long year

The spring woke her kindly
And though she's a tired worn old tree
He told her there was nothing to fear

Spring is always false hope
Promises of new life
Spring tells her that she's beautiful
He's insincere and full of lies

The torturous sun of a thousand hells

Summer beats her back down
He tells her faith is futile

Summer always burns her
He revels in her misery
Summer thinks she's worthless
A bent and broken nothing tree

Autumn starts with hurricanes
Painful wind and forceful rains

Autumn seeks to drown her
He knows her ugly secrets
Autumn speaks of past mistakes
He plays his song on her regrets

But winter makes her shine true
Sparkling in her crystal limbs

Winter is the cold truth
He's not here to cause harm
He'll give her what she's longed for
A sweet death inside his arms

Winter won’t deny her
Gone today, but not forever

Go ahead and judge me harshly. I know it’s rough but it’s something. I really really want to start writing again but every time I try I just sit there with a pencil and a notebook and nothing comes to me. It makes me want to cry. Writing has always been my outlet even though I’m not particularly good at it, it makes me feel better. And now i just feel empty. I’ve got nothing to write about and it sucks.

I very much enjoyed it, Losty. Why so hard on yourself? I liked these last couple of stanzas in particular:

He's not here to cause harm
He'll give her what she's longed for
A sweet death inside his arms

Winter won’t deny her
Gone today, but not forever

I don’t think it’s terrible or anything. I just wish I could pour out all my feelings on to paper like I used to. When I can it makes me feel so much better.

I'm always happy to see your poetry, Losty. Do me a favor, if you ever become famous at any art-form... never sell out or compromise who you are as an artist Heart Even if it's just selling 5 copies of a book in amazon to 5 friends. Hehe. Make sure what you write stays true to your heart, because your poetry is beautiful and it saddens me when someone gives up their uniqueness (*cringes at his own mother's poetry as well as half of the bands he used to like*) Heart

I LOVE your poem. And I love your uniqueness Blush

P.S. I would also like to remind everyone that yesterday was the day that Jesus didn't come back from the dead. Thought that may be un-noteworthy.

Don't give up. You'll get there Smile

Life finds a way. To quote a dude from the original Jurassic Park movie when referencing evolution and dinosaurs.

The best I could ever do was:

Sand lizard
Half-gone
Clockwork Sun

lol

Although I'm pretty sure it's 80% gone now Tongue

Writing is interesting, tough I've never really enjoyed doing it myself. I do enjoy character and place sketches, but without a plot, it all sits idle, with no outlet for potential.

Poetry was always interesting in high school, what with all the meters and stuff tat we studied. I was always afraid of plagiarism, though.

You done good. I hope you add more.
