I've watched enough American TV shows to know truckies kill hitchikers and throw them off bridges like that.

How many victims do you have?

I've just been looking at a sea rise map.
If the oceans rise by 2100 ft I will have beach front property.
Every major city in Australia will be gone, in fact there won't be much of Australia left at all.
If I ever get three wishes then I'm sorry guys but you can't appreciate just how much I miss the beach.

Watching breaking news as Trump gives a full pardon to Jack Johnson, the first black heavyweight champ, who was convicted in 1913 of transporting a white woman across state lines. Looking at Sylvester Stallone and wondering how many more face lifts he's going to get before he decides to give up. He looks fucking horrible.

Day 4 of sitting by my wife (AF member Kitty Galore) in the hospital (laparoscopic RYGB). There were complications, in normal circumstances we'd have gone home yesterday. We might go home today, maybe tomorrow. She's much better, the last milestones are controlling nausea and advancing to non-clear liquids.

Fucking PA - whom I otherwise like - fucked up ordering post-op pain meds. The first couple of hours were not something you want a loved one to experience.

I'm looking forward to sleeping in a bed.

Give Kitty our love and let her know we're thinking of you both.

Hope you both get home soon.

It might be worth it to stay another day just to avoid the afternoon rush hour in Seattle (which is almost legendary). Thinking

I spent an unusually long amount of time at Lunch, and I wound up being late for my job at the candy store by about 25 minutes. One crucial thing is that, while trying to look for an update on the copy of Book of Disquiet that I ordered last Sunday that still hasn't come (after 11 days!) After trying to do a quick check to see if there was any update on its whereabouts, I spent a lot of time waiting for it to load on my iPad and iPhone. When I tried to make it work on my laptop, the internet connection died. When Dad fixed it, I found the USPS website's tracking services were down. I told Dad about it and he found the USPS' phone lines are even down.

However, something did arrive; my Dad tried to buy a cigar box big enough to use as a case for my Cigar Box Kalimba, specifically a Drew Liga Kuba cigar box.
Yes, it does look boss. However, it was not big enough to fit the Kalimba , as The box has interior dimensions of 6.5x6.5x4, and the Kalimba is 8x5.5x2 (and each of the kalimba's dimensions are lowballed), so the search continues. However, something strange I noticed: it was filled with this strange type of excelsior.
It smelled horrible, and part of me wondered if they just decided to include some really poorly cut tobacco as excelsior. Then I remembered that for a company whose trade is to sell it, and refine this cash crop into something that's supposed to make putting a burning leaf close to your mouth look seductive, to turn that same cash crop into really smelly excelsior would appear to be a very stupid business move. Then again, while I haven't found any positive identification, it would seem the tobacco excelsior may very well be the case, though the pictures I've seen of loose tobacco is more finely cut than this. For any cigar smokers on AF, does this look like tobacco was turned into something that seems like mulch?

"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Currently watching Zombi and it has the most amazing first zombie encounter I’ve ever seen:

Yes, that really was a zombie underwater fighting a shark.

Sure, this movie is technically a ripoff of Dawn of the Dead (to the extent that it’s original title was Zombi 2, because DOTD was called Zombi in Italy where this film was made,) but I have never seen another movie with underwater zombies. Well, maybe that one episode of SpongeBob where everyone thinks Gary is a zombie, but I’m genuinely surprised no exploitation filmmaker has tried making a Zombies vs. Sharks movie. To be fair, that could be because of the inherent difficulty in keeping actors in undead makeup (and alive) while underwater but I can’t help but wonder if someone is either ambitious enough to overcome that obstacle or give so little a shit they make an infamously horrible movie with a shitty solution (blatantly bad CGI and horribly composited zombies that make it look like The Amazing Bulk maybe.)

And update on my USPS situation: the tracking service has finally resumed. As I write this, it’s in a facility in Lombard. The day prior, it was in Glendale Heights. The day prior, it was in York, Pennsylvania. And about a week before that, it was in Waukegan. Bear in mind, I live in Skokie, IL. I can see no reason for it to go from Waukegan, then Pennsylvania, and then back to DuPage county, before it finally comes to me.

Also, since I was locked out mid-edit, the real lowballed size of my cigar box kalimba is about 8x5.5x2.5”
