It's funny how they talk about it being so skillful and coordinated and such, but that's just the same internet phishing scams that have been around forever. I could do it.

Can IT protect people from their own stupidity?

Cybersecurity is a necessary part of that, and we need to be throwing our best efforts at this problems instead of pretending it's harmless. Ultimately that would seem to depend upon implementing more checkpoints at which imposters can be intercepted and thwarted. Unfortunately, an increase in the number of such checkpoints leads to people being more casual and reckless both with their information and how they deal with the checkpoints, ultimately leading to the same result, weaknesses that can be exploited.
Against stupidity, the Gods themselves contend in vain.
There are two things that are unlimited, the universe and the potential for human stupidity. And I’m not sure about the universe.
