Was Jesus Gay?

Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.

Jesus was only 30 years old, not more than ten or fifteen years older than his disciples.His disciples weren't little kids looking for comfort from an adult. Why did the bible make a big deal about the fact that Jesus loved this disciple butt didn't give him a name? Why would a grown man lean on another man's bosom except for physically intimate love?

Apparently, the church had such a problem with this supposedly "innocent" gesture that the NIV changed it to say the disciple was merely reclining near Jesus. That's not a reinterpretation. Those are two entirely different things. How easily god's word can be fixed when too many eyebrows rise over what it says.

However, the Greeks who wrote this shit down would have thought nothing of homosexuality as it was part of their culture.  That it later upset the prudes who followed them is no surprise at all.

In so far as one might imagine there was truly a real Jesus who exhibited real and accurately recorded behaviors which can be fruitfully analyzed for evidence of a real underlying sexual proclivity and psychology, I would say that evidence alone is inconclusive.

Whether an individual behavior consititute evidence of homosexuality is heavily dependent on the cultural norm.  Russian men traditionally kiss eachother on the cheek as a show of familiarity.   In russian culture this would be considered polite behavior.  In American culture the homophobia would consider the appropriate reaction to this to be a fist to the mouth.
   
If we don’t know in detail what the social norm for friendly behavior is, A single behavior would be a flimsy hook upon which to hang an assessment of homosexual inclination.

You've never seen two straight men comfort each other, hug when they say goodbye, etc.? That's weird. I definitely wouldn't think twice about this. Male relationships can include "leaning on" each other without being homosexual. Jesus may have been a homosexual, but this isn't even close to evidence of it. Sorry.
