I rather expect the investigation to get to the bottom of things, or at least determine if there is a findable bottom to things; and whether their testimony matches or conflicts with the FBI's findings. You seem to be saying that if they're lying now, they'll lie under oath. It's likely, but not necessarily so. Lying now isn't a felony.

Accusations. And again, this is not a court of law, fitness for the position is the question before congress. If it were a court of law, Senator McConnell's indication that he is determined to vote yes on the confirmation would result in a mistrial, because in a real trial, the jury is supposed to be impartial and wait until all the evidence is in before reaching their decision.

A couple of weeks ought to be enough, they can still get it in before the midterms if they don't drag their feet.
