I was unsuitable because of a lifetime of bullying prior to going in. So basically you are a sexist, in saying men are not allowed to show vulnerability? I was not mentally fit, but that has nothing to do with being a traitor.

Your attitude is why, even for those who do make it past basic, come back with PTSD and commit suicide or worse kill their spouse or others.

So your attitude is that girls are weak and men have to be Rambo?

So you have a problem with me admitting someone like Tammy Duckworth could do  job she was mentally fit to do, and handled it,  is less of a woman because I couldn't do the same thing? Was she playing the female card when she had her legs blown off?

Again, GENDER HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ABILITY.

I am not ashamed of not being able to serve. Anymore than any female or male should be ashamed of any mental illness.

I'm terribly sorry to learn about your emotional scars due to bullying. All I'll say about that here is that I empathise due to shared experience.

I'm very uncomfortable with the word 'traitor', as I am with all political crimes.   It's a very emotive term. I am also uncomfortable with trial by media. IE when all the facts one has are from media sources.

Sadly, in my country, having a mental illness or disability is still not really accepted. So you don't say anything

The Israeli Army uses females as combat soldiers, and has for decades.  I consider that a logical extension of  feminist principles.  Being a combat soldier is yet another of those jobs for which having a penis is not a job requirement.

Mental illness is not about gender. Period.

Anyone who goes off to join ISIS is an enemy combatant, regardless of gender. You don't get to come back with lame stories about having been brainwashed.

So anyone who joins the KKK or Nazis can never realize they fucked up?

Go back to the video I posted, WATCH IT!

People can realized they fucked up. There are also lots of former street gang members outside the issue of religion too.

You have no case especially when SHE herself said she was willing to come back and face a court and conviction.

We are not talking about Lizzy Borden or Osama Bin Laden. We are talking about someone who got sick of seeing the orange turd on TV vilifying Muslims every day, just like I get fucking sick of right wingers equating Atheists to Stalin and Hitler and Po Pot.

If I had been an atheist in my teens being as ignorant as I was back then, I could very easily see myself being suckered by a group that advocated the forced end of religion. I still get angry at right wingers, but I am also 52 and not full of hormones or chasing utopias.

And again, even if I agreed she was beyond all hope. Why the fuck would you want your enemy overseas where you have no jurisdiction? If you don't want our enemies here, then why GITMO? Or why not put her in GITMO?

Hard to keep track of someone you have no law enforcement control over isn't it?

Again, even El Chapo was not a citizen, so by your logic we shouldn't have tried him here and put him in an American prison. We should just deport him, and never should have brought him here.

Um yes and no.

This gullible woman probably stupidly thought that women had equal rights under Isis. Is is is like the Islamic version of our LDS. I am betting when she got there she realized she was going to be nothing but a baby factory.

I am also sure that  that European and Muslim American men probably go thinking they are fighting for minority rights, but when they get there do not realize Isis is nothing more than a brutal sub sect of Islam, just like the KKK is a sub sect of Christianity.

@Brian37

There's a difference between joining a political affiliation and between taking the field against your own nation's soldiers or those of allies. You can say whatever terrible thing you want about the US (or the UK or whatever). But as soon as you pick up a gun with the intent to harm your nation's interests, you are, in fact, a traitor-- and while you might think your treachery has value (like you think the US is a country of capitalist pigs, say, or Christian heretics), you should have no expectation of anything but the worst possible punishments if you are ever brought under that nation's control.

"Oh, I made a mistake. I accidentally supported an organization that has murdered thousands in the name of Allah, and which has as its express goal the downfall of all Western civilization. Forgive me bro-- I was just pranking!"

As far as I'm concerned, traitors should be strapped naked to the front of minesweepers.

No, women aren't as dumb as you are. She knew what ISIS is.

So do KKK members. They are religious zealots too. So as long as they are white zealots home grown terrorists are ok?

Hate to tell you this, but you are far more under threat from right wing hate groups that exist in America than you are from Isis.

Got it.

But again, you are the one saying she is evil. Ok, so it seems stupid to me to let evil people roam free where we cant contain them and keep an eye on them.

It doesn't really matter what ISIS is or isn't. If you know that ISIS is considered an enemy of the state, and you stand with them, then you will be considered an enemy of the state and treated as such. I don't see how any amount of goofy rationalizing gets around this.

I'm not even saying that you have to hate her for the traitor she is-- but she is, in fact, a traitor, and she will, in fact, be treated as such.
