Why?
I don’t know that the explanation would serve the thread, lol.
It’s long winded, but to summarize, it’s s hard economic incentive.

Comparing declawing of cats to having them speyed/neutered is ridiculous, as far as I’m concerned.
Yes, I’m sure the cats would rather not be fixed but, as has already been stated, certain procedures have a direct benefit to the cat’s welfare, whereas declawing does not. Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???"  RE: Declawing Cats
