Changing the banner to promote BLM

Interesting that you think resistance to change is the issue.  Also interesting is that you assume people don't have a good reason to think about something in a different way than you do.

I am not a fan of changing the banner to support one issue when there are many, many issues that people feel passionately about and that are deserving of support/notice.

I’m gay, yet I’m willing to focus on BLM than gay rights at the moment.

I'm delighted to learn that you can count to 4.  Your point?

Which important cause? Gun violence, corporations, politics, environment, immigration, health, LGBTQ, ............. the cause du jour? They are all important.

That's all I have to say.

I don’t think I’d like a banner change if it involved temporary support for any cause.

And what does one have to do with the other?

The fact that you are up in arms about wanting to defend all causes, but only within the confines of the threads, and then act like uppity twats when the forum wants to show support for a very important current cause in its banner.

I am reminded of those folks who claim they are "doing God's work".

...

Let us just suppose for a moment that there is some invisible sky fairy (unlikely) who has this job to do.

Now - some lackadaisical fuck comes along, gets busy doing some shit and claims it's "God's Work".

If somebody came in and started doing my job - and claimed the results were mine - I would be PISSED.

I can't imagine this God fella would be any different.

Now if somebody ASKS if they can help - I might be agreeable - provided they do things my way.

I take pride in my results. I don't want my name stuck on somebody else's work - good or bad.

How many years has this forum been in existence?  And how many causes have been singled out for special notice?

RE: Changing the banner to promote BLM
I rather think the current BLM movement is more important than most other causes. It’s about racism and the fact that the racial climate becomes stronger whenever conservatives gain power in the White House. Yes, black people are being treated better, due to the fact that they had to fight for the right to be treated as equal citizens, but the problems still persist when there should be no issues. The current BLM movement is about fighting a very real ignorance that won’t die in this horrible country.
