I hate to break it to you, but you're wrong. Wicked wrong.

I could suggest a few books if you'd be willing to read about the history of racism in the United States and how it still affects our systems of government, housing, etc.

Oh noes, how come no one is saying anything about black people doing bad things? It's always about white people being the bad ones! No fair!

And OP, don't be sneaky. The person you're remarking on has every reason to doubt white liberals as allies. The many posts in these forums lend credence to such doubt.

How is this imagination?

"I'm concerned about voter registration in Mississippi,"  the commissioner wrote. "The blacks are having lots (of) events for voter registration. People in Mississippi have to get involved, too."

That was posted on Facebook by an election commissioner in Mississippi. Unless you can 1) make some hideously convoluted argument that she’s not differentiating between ‘the blacks’ and ‘people’, 2) can delude yourself that the comment isn’t racist, 3) imagine that she’s the only election commissioner in the US who feels this way, and 4) seriously believe that this view hasn’t impacted the elections she’s overseen in the last 20 years, then your claim that systemic racism is somehow imaginary doesn’t hold water.

When people use BLM as a chant or slogan I doubt they give a shit about the BLM organization, it's the sentiment.

To bad some white aholes came up with All Lives Matter as a diversion.

Arrgghh

If they really believed that ‘all lives matter’, they should have no problem with ‘black lives matter.’

But that’s not what they mean.

RE: About BLM
I was talking with one of my (chump supporter) neighbors the other day, and he told me how his sister had sent a picture to him on FaceBook with "White Lives Matter", and that he had posted it, only to have it taken down. He claimed that FB (whomever- moderators?)  notified him that it was racist. He was all kinds of pissed off, but I wasn't going to grasp the nettle at that moment. No fucking shit, it's racist.

Ed, if you think systemic racism is a myth, I'd highly encourage you to look at this video. It explores quite a few instances of systemic racism, why it can't be dismissed as just a few bad apples, and it's all built around debunking some Ben Shapiro arguments around the subject:

It's nowhere near comprehensive, but it's a good place to start understanding the problem, and it even includes one instance that is alarmingly recent of North Carolina changing their voting laws specifically to target black voters that stopped just short of saying "N*****s need not bother."

Is someone from across the sea telling me, a southern man, that systemic racism is a myth?

That's funny.  I know some fellows who'd get along well with you.  And others who wouldn't.  I know you're full of shit.

And remember that systemic isn't he same thing as systematic. In an institution with systemic racism, the racist effects occur even if no one in the institution is racist. It's built-in, whether intentionally or not.
