Mayor Buttigieg appointed to head DOT.

Good for him. I would have voted for him if he'd been nominated for president... Oh well......
But - bet on it - the following WILL be on late night -
President Elect Biden nominated former South Bend mayor Pete Buttigieg to head the Department of Transportation today.
That will make him out of the closet - but now in the cabinet.....

Yup, continuing the trend of predictable and utterly disappointing picks and policies. I wish him well at any rate, I hope they manage to get something done that he can put as a feather in his cap for the inevitable next run at the presidency.

I was hoping he would land somewhere that would give him federal experience of some sort. It will help if he decides to run for president again, I think.

That's what sticks in my craw about this one. Pete's getting federal experience (and getting out of indiana, where he has no political future) was more important than putting a qualified person in that role.

At least he didn't have to prove a criminal past to get the position. Hell, he may not even need to be pre-pardoned in four years...what a concept.
